PMP Exam Requirements


Prerequisites: The educational requirement to take the PMP exam is a 35 hour project management class, either online or in-class.
The work experience requirement to take the PMP exam is, if you hold a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 years of project management work experience, or, if you hold a high school degree, a minimum of 5 years of project management work experience. We will explain during class how to fill out the PMP application.

Test: The PMP exam is administered online, 200 multiple-choice questions, 240 minutes, test fee $ 405 if you are a PMI member, retake fee $ 275 if you are a PMI member, 35 PDUs.

Prerequisites: If you do not meet the PMP work experience requirement, please take PMI's CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) exam instead; the educational requirement to take the CAPM exam is satisfied after taking the PMP class; there is no work experience requirement to take the CAPM exam.

Test: The CAPM exam is administered online, 150 multiple-choice questions, 180 minutes, test fee $ 225 if you are a PMI member, retake fee $ 150 if you are a PMI member.
